Buddhism teaches us that there is no time to waste in this life; it is but a brief glimpse in the vastness of the universe. Every day offers an opportunity to reveal our inner light—to be the light and to share that light with others. We practice yoga when life is wonderful and when it presents challenges, through seasons of both deep pain and immense joy. We practice because it trains the mind to remain present, exactly where we are.
Yoga teaches us to breathe when pain squeezes the heart, when we face loss, or even when overwhelming blessings pour over us; it always draws us back to our center. We are the Light, observing the material world as it performs its universal dance. While we gain physical flexibility and strength, more importantly, we cultivate the health and resilience of the mind. As our perception shifts, we foster kindness, compassion, and love for ourselves and the entire world. We practice without attachment to goals; our practice is our prayer to the Source. We came here to be the Light, and through our practice, we connect with and become that Light.
