More than just asanas.
In Spain, we learn that the locals take their siestas, parties, and holidays very seriously. But for me, yoga is a different kind of ritual—one that doesn’t follow a calendar. I practice when I’m happy, when I’m sad, on holidays, before and after parties. Yoga is an invitation to live life consciously, a constant in a world of variables.
Think of it this way: we don’t need inspiration to brush our teeth; we just do it. Similarly, yoga—including meditation and pranayama—is a vital cleansing ritual for our subtle energetic bodies. When life feels like it’s falling apart and the ground is shifting beneath our feet, the practice keeps us sane. It’s a constant, safe, and sacred space on the mat where we connect to a higher power through our awareness, breath, and bodies. This practice is an offering, a prayer, and a deep act of devotion.
On the mat, we learn to let go of control, ego, and the stiffness of our minds. We find freedom in acceptance, creating new possibilities and embracing the lightness, love, and generosity of our own being. Yoga is the practice of the phoenix: we sacrifice the dogmas and games of our minds to rise in total liberation. It can be uncomfortable, painful, and tearful emotionally, physically, and mentally, but the serenity and peace that follow always make it worthwhile.
Yoga is so much more than physical poses; it is the exploration of human consciousness and our connection to the source of all energy. If you’re in Mallorca, I’d love for us to practice together.
Love,
