Age and yoga.

Age is just a number in yoga. A strong clear mind and a peaceful state of being are necessary to practice yoga. Kindness, Love and Compassion are required in the yoga world. Everyone who practices yoga diligently confirms that the body becomes stronger, leaner, more flexible and brings a feeling of rejuvenation. So what do we do when we are no longer 26 years old and nature reduces the growth hormone which used to make us feel so vital? Well, we need to pay more attention to our nutritional choices and sleep habits as well as other lifestyle choices. We should all be aware of what resonates best with our body. Many people don’t understand how I could visit my favourite country Italy and not eat pizza or pasta! My confession though is my weakness for Italian ice cream. My body can’t handle gluten and dairy so I am generally healthier and happier without them. On top of that, there is so much Divine beauty around, that my Soul is sustained without the need for seductive comfort food.

Recently I came to a happy realisation in my being, that I am free from attachment to unhealthy foods. It took me many years to get to this point, but now I can finally eat in a beautiful restaurant, enjoying every bit of it, but then I can be even more satisfied and nourished with a simple meal of natural buckwheat without salt or spices with an orange or two as desert.
