Endless joy with yoga.

Endless joy with yoga

This week I feel great joy and a sense of achievement as a teacher. I am proud of my students because I can see how far they have come. I was standing with astonishment and excitement in my heart watching my students doing complex asanas. Even when a small inner voice was telling me yoga is not about the asanas, another inner voice said “oh be quiet, let’s enjoy this great moment and celebrate”. Doing these complex asanas gives us freedom from physical limitations and a sense of empowerment. When physical limitations are defeated, we touch Divine Light. We need a strong Spirit, big trust in our heart and devotion to the Divine to practice consistently no matter what. Whenever a tricky day appears to get in the way of our daily practice, a true yogi finds solutions rather than excuses. In my studies in India we were practicing 5 hours a day 6 days a week. Trust me, everyone says it was their best experience ever. I remember 2018 when we were begging our teacher Vinay Kumar www.pranavashya.com to teach us on Christmas Day, but as an Indian Brahmin he explained that on this very holy day we should rest, eat and celebrate. As enthusiastic western students we felt we could celebrate Christmas by practicing yoga. Yoga brings eternal joy as we connect to Divine Love. In an ideal world we would practice 6 days a week, but realistically in our busy world when we practice 3 -4 times a week we are still able to connect to the depth of yoga. But we have to make it Impossible for our mind to escape from the commitment. As soon as the mind accepts this is the structure and this is absolutely how it’s going to be, then there is no struggle, no injury, no mental confusion – only clarity, peace and joy. In our chaotic and forever changing world we can rely on our practice to keep us grounded and connected to the Divine.

I am looking forward to seeing you and practicing with you.
